Kialo feels a little bit sterile. Kinopio does not. Think about pketh, billwurtz, and html energy. It may actually be quite important for the design of Wicker to communicate something that makes it feel different. It must not be bland. It must not be corporate. What can we do in the design to make it feel like “ohhhhhhh, yes… this is what the internet has always been about!” I guess in order to do that, the design would need to take a definite stand. It would need to have a character and would therefore need to be distasteful to some people. This makes me think about the fediverse and whether, if Wicker were to be open source, it could be something with many instances like that. The instance I ran could have a certain style which would alienate some people but perhaps others would want to start their own with different styles.
