It should be possible to add most UI elements to the chat in order to ask questions about them or make claims about them. You could do this by dragging to the right on an element in order to “detach” it. Or perhaps you click and hold. On iOS you could hard press. Or you could use a toggle somewhere on the screen, perhaps under the input bar on the bottom right which, when enabled, revealed all the elements that can be dragged into the chat. In this case, it would toggle itself off again as soon as you grab something. It would be similar to the MIDI map mode in Ableton.
You should be able to drop the elements in between words in the existing text if there is any already in the input box (it should not let you place it between letters of words — you’d never want that). This way, you could easily construct sentences consisting of multiple references.
